This sounds like a movie waiting to be made . . . if it isn't already. Is it? Your annotation has me wanting more information. Why is he hitchhiking? Where is his car? Sounds like a series I should look into. These are popular books at the library where I work. They have really high circulation and when they first come in, there is always a long waiting list. Now, I can see why.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the book jacket and the Lee Childs website, every book he has written so far is optioned for movies. One was already made with Tom Cruise a couple of years ago which is where I first learned about the book series.
DeleteYour summary of A Wanted Man sounds like a typical suspense book where a “normal person” gets wrapped up in a situation that is a fight between good and evil. The action begins as Reacher gets into the car with the others and unravels many layers to the story of conspiracy, murder, and terrorism. Although the thought of criminal conspiracy involving the CIA and State Department does not appeal to me it is the type of story that many readers love. It seems from your summary that fans of the suspense genre that enjoy the fight between good and evil where the “good guy” will prevail in the end would thoroughly enjoy this book. If they do enjoy this book you have offered them several options of other books that a reader might enjoy next.
ReplyDeleteHolley took the "words" right out of "my mind". Your annotation left me wanting to know so much more! I agree that Lee Child's books are extremely popular at my library. During the week, I check in multiple copies of his most recent release, Personal. I've never paid much attention to them, but now I'm very intrigued.

DeleteHello Jeff (too much copy and paste, sorry) ~ I love Jack Reacher novels, I have not read this one. The plot line sounds similar to the Bourne Legacy. I do love a good vs bad book where the “good guy” wins. Would you recommend this book? Was there a lot of violence or was it just implied? Was there a lot of spy jargon, CIA stuff in it? Was the book really long or hard to read? Are they on the road the whole time? I wonder if I would enjoy this book? I sure like a book with a convoluted plot. Thank you for your annotation. An enjoyable element of Jack Reacher novels is that Reacher has his memory intact. Reacher knows exactly who he is and where he came from and what he is capable of. A couple of the books so far have gone back to his youth and army days.
DeleteI'll have to try the novels ~
